2-a. Thread Play 1. DecoStitch
This is a 6 hour workshop
In this class we are going to play with threads, lots of threads! Students are encouraged
to bring their thread and specialty yarn collection.
First we are going to couch down some of the specialty yarns/threads.
Then we are going to use those decorative stitches that are found on most newer machines,
although older machines with 4 – 6 decorative stitches can also be used.
Some of those stitches can be sewn with a twin needle! which gives the stitch a whole
new look.
This project can be made into anything from a throw pillow, book cover to place-mat
or I pad cover, or make it into a wall hanging. The blue project below is made into
a throw pillow cover and the brown sample at right is going to be featured as the
front of a new shopping bag.
